(Inspired by the TNT series about taking down Boston con artists, we decided to go Leverage on AAB.)
If you're not fully informed about the Art Asylum Boston situation, in the last month AAB has been denounced by KAWS, attempted to defraud the musician Everlast, and organized a fundraiser in New York City called Art 4 Hearts, trading on the name of some world famous artists in an effort to steal money meant for the American Heart Association.
This follows a year of complaints mounted by emerging artists and collectors on boards like Kid Robot, Banksyforum and Expressobeans.
All our coverage is linked below. From the bottom up it explains how we were taken by Art Asylum Boston's Jason Zenga and Juliann Cyhan nearly one year ago, assembled the evidence to prove it, and how we helped uncover the fraud behind the AHA fundraiser and encourage other artists to speak out.
This was absolutely a collaborative effort and we thank everyone who has come forward in public and in private to share their own stories and evidence.
